Obituary

Services for Arthur E. Wachutka, 65, of 2113 S. 16th, who was killed in a traffic accident near Montrose Thursday, Feb. 23, will be held at Prugh's Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Rev. Laurence L. Garrett officiating. BUrial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery. Born Feb. 17, 1913, in Burlington, he was the son of Frank and Marie Leiter Wachutka. He married Dorothy Helen Tweedell June 16, 1960, in Burlington. He retired from the Burlington police department after 27 years of service. At the time of his death, he was employed by Seither & Cherry, inc., Keokuk. He was a member of Iowa Assn. of Chiefs of Police and Peace Officers, Burlington Policemens Assn., and the Elks and Eagles lodges. Surviving: The wife; son Arthur E. Wachutka, St. Louis Park, Minn.; stepson Roy M. Harsch, Geneva, Ill.; four grandchildren; brother Adolph, Burlington; and two sisters, Marie Wachutka and Antoinette Pfeiffer, both of Chicago. A memorial to Grace United Methodist church has been established.
