Burt (Burdette) Arthur Voss, 95 formerly of Burlington passed away on the morning of August 8th, 2014 at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, Ia.
Born on March 17th, 1919 in Davenport, Iowa, he was the son of Arthur H. Voss and Vera Moeller Voss. He married Gloria Irene Bare on Jan. 31st 1943 in Missouri.
Sgt. Voss served in the Army Air Force from Sept. 1944 thru April 1946 as an Armament Instructor. He managed Hawkeye Motor Company for 21 years to retiring. He enjoyed spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren, story-telling, traveling, family pets, walking, and telling jokes. Burt was well liked by many, and had a wicked sense of humor.
Besides his wife of 71 years, he is survived by his three daughters, Dianne Wolfe of Olathe, Kansas, Barbara Voss of Lake Mills, Wisconsin and Carole (Ed) Byrne of Burlington, Iowa; five grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Voss; and two grandchildren, Robin Lynn Wolfe and Peter Michael Wolfe.
Cremation has been entrusted to the loving care of Prugh funeral Service.
A private Family Service will be held in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date. A Memorial has been established for P.A.W.S.
