Lola Augusta Blessing, 85, of Burlington, died at 7:14 pm Tuesday, Feb. 27, 1996, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born Aug. 1, 1910, in Augusta, she was the daughter of Horatio Walker and Annie Caroline Nelson Short. She married William Newton Blessing on Nov. 14, 1931, in Salem. He died July 3, 1971.
Mrs. Blessing was a 1928 graduate of Salem High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include one son, Frank Blessing of Burlington; four daughters, Susan Rhum, Marilyn Woodruff, and Arlene Dietsch, all of Burlington, and Shirley Koett of Appleton, Wis.; one sister, Alma Pfieffer of Mount Pleasant; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother, and two great-grandsons.
Visitation will begin at 8 am Friday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm.
The funeral for Mrs. Blessing will be 10 am Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Charles Evans officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
