Henry Leopold Von ende, jr. 71, 1045 Short, died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at home. Born Jan. 31, 1910, at Oak Park, Ill., he was the son of Henry Leopold and Dorothy Agnes Steck Von Ende. He married Jeanette M. Erickson, Sept. 31, 1935, at Cambridge, Ill. She died Feb. 27, 1965.He retired as a captain from Hinesley Detective Agency and also operated Von's Restaurant in Burlington and Kozy Cafe in Mt. Pleasant for many years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of the V.F.W. and Eagles lodge. Surviving: One son, James Von Ende, Burlington; two daughters, Mrs. Nancy Atwater and Mrs. Sharon Starman, both of Burlington;one brother, Bill, Burlington; three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Mower, Mrs. Leopoldine Wilke and Miss Louise Von Ende, all of Burlington; seven grandchildren and one great-grand-child. Committal service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aspen Grove Cemetery, Rev. Mr. David Streyffler; Aspen Grove Cemetery.
