James A. Imthurn, 70, of Fort Madison, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at Fort Madison Community Hospital. Born Feb. 12, 1941, in Burlington, he was the son of Clyde Ollie and Evelyn Kirby Imthurn. He married Sharon Luan James. They divorced. He married Bonnie Rose Collins. They divorced. Mr. Imthurn worked as a laborer. He played guitar and harmonica in a band and could keep perfect rhythm playing the spoons. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing, camping, the outdoors, working on cars, and watching sports on TV. He was always busy. Survivors include one son, James Imthurn II of LaHarpe, Ill.; three daughters, Julia Pitts of Colchester, Ill., Jennifer Imthurn of Bushnell, Ill., and Teresa Manning of Fort Madison; one sister, Judy Jackson of Burlington; 15 grand- children; two great-grandchildren; and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents. The private service for Mr. Imthurn will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established. Prugh Funeral Service in Burlington is in charge of arrangements.
