Nedra F. Utt, 90, of Burlington died at 8:20 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at Fort Madison Health Care Center. Born June 19,1916, in Davis County, she was the daughter of Orgie Otis and Vinnie Flo Frances Burton. On April 14,1934 she married Murl L. Utt in Lancaster, Mo. He died May 17,1985. She worked at Niesner Brothers Department Store in Burlington for 27 years and was a greeter at Kmart. She was a member of First Christian Church. Her hobbies were golfing, bowling, playing cards and taking care of her houseplants. She did volunteer work in the church office, helping to prepare the newsletter for many years and baked cookies for Sunday church. Survivors include one daughter, Jane Connors of Burlington; one son, James Dean Utt of Denver, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leo Burton and Boyd Burton both of Bloomfield; and one sister, Helen Plotz of St. Petersburg, Fla. Her husband, one son, one grandson, parents, six brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Friends may call from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday in Lunning Chapel. The funeral for Mrs. Utt will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Lunning Chapel, with the family receiving friends for one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Tom Smith will officiate. Interment will be in the Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Fort Madison Health Care Center.
