Rodney Lee Tweed, 71, of Burlington, died at 8:34 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2001, at his home.
Born Nov. 16, 1929, in Keithsburg, Ill., he was the son of Clifford Lee and Opal B. Boruff Tweed. On April 6, 1954, he married Twyla Turner in Mediapolis. On April 4, 1986, he married Rose Inghram in Kahoka, Mo.
Mr. Tweed was a telephone lineman for Northwestern Bell for 30 years. He retired in 1980.
He was a 1948 graduate of Keithsburg High School. He was of the Methodist faith. He was a Korean War Army veteran and a member of Telephone Pioneers.
Survivors include four daughters, Melinda Diewold, Jenny Hoffer, Laura Houtz and Tina Leibli, all of Burlington; two sons, Nathan "Roy" Kochenour of Danville and Michael Tweed of Ames; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one broth-er, Kenneth Tweed of Keithsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
