Miss Joann "Joey" Tubbs, 75, of Burlington died at 10:17 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born October 12, 1936 in Morning Sun, she was the daughter of Oscar and Pearl Smith Tubbs.
Miss Tubbs was a 1955 graduate of Burlington High School. She worked in production for General Electric for 25 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of Eagles Auxiliary. She loved fishing, camping and going to the casino.
Survivors include one brother, Stanley Tubbs of Tribune, Kansas; her life-long friend, Donna Pence of Burlington with whom she made a home for 43 years and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and two sisters.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, March 11th, in Lunning Chapel.
The funeral service for Miss Tubbs will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 12th, in Lunning Chapel. The Rev. Dean Graber will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the Eagles following the Committal Service.
A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice House.
