Warren F. Traman, 96, former resident of Burlington, Iowa, died at Solon Retirement Village, Solon, Iowa, on Tuesday, May 26, 2015.
Born on March 4, 1919 in Burlington, Iowa, he was the son of Herbert H. and Mabel M. (Young) Traman. He married Bonnie L. Lovejoy on June 16, 1946 in Burlington, Iowa. She died on March 29, 2001.
Warren served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed at J.I Case Co. for over 40 years, retiring in 1980. He was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was active in many Burlington community activities including Visiting Nurses Association, YMCA Keenagers, and the Burlington Visitors Center.
He is survived by one daughter, Priscilla Traman of Iowa City, Iowa; one granddaughter, Natasha Johnson of Iowa City, Iowa; and one great-grandson, Treymire Johnson. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
The celebration of life service and visitation will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 3:00 p.m at Prugh’s Chapel, 317 N. 4th St., Burlington, Iowa. Pastor Ryan Cosgrove will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date. Memorials have been established for Iowa City Hospice & Trinity Lutheran Church.
