John Tod, of 1904 River, died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday, March 12, in Burlington Medical Center. He was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, the son of John and Elizabeth Tod. He was an Army veteran of World War I, a member of First Congregational church, and was retired chairman of Burlington Baking Co. He was a past officer of American Bakers Assn, American Society of Bakery Engineers, various Masonic bodies, a past officer of Burlington Chamber of Commerce, and a past president of Burlington Golf Club.in October, 1925, at St .Paul, Minn., he married Violet J. Smith. Surviving: The wife; one son, John A., Burlington; one daughter, Mrs. Carl (Mae Elizabeth) Conrad, Tacoma, Wash.; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday, Prugh's chapel, Rev. Arthur H. Krebs; Aspen Grove cemetery. A memorial has been established at First Congregational church.
