Frank William Titus, 79, of Burlington died at 8:07 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born June 30, 1935, in Burlington, he was the son of Alfred M. and Alvinia Brum Titus. On March 2, 1957, he married Mary Lou Westgate in Burlington. She died Aug.12, 2004.
Mr. Titus worked for the Burlington Fire Department, where he was a firefighter, EMT, ambulance driver and pumper driver. He also farmed and did home remodeling.
He was a 1955 graduate of Burlington High School. He served from 1953 to 1955 in the Navy after the Korean War. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and VFW Post 10102. He enjoyed carpentry work, fishing and camping.
Survivors include four daughters, Cynthia Hiland and Karen Bickel, both of Burlington, Catherine Harper of Danville and Tina Hunter of Choctaw, Ark.? one son, Frank Titus of Burlington? eight grandchildren? 14 greatgrandchildren? nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and three halfbrothers.
No visitation is planned. The body has been cremated.
The graveside memorial service for Mr. Titus will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington, with Pastor Joyce Proctor officiating.
A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice.
