Nancy Joann Tisor, 69, of Burlington, died at 3:27 AM Sunday, June 19, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.
Born July 25, 1946, in Burlington, she was the daughter of John Thomas and Evelyn Mae Schindall Mahoney. On June 28, 1968, she married Ronald LaRoy Tisor in Burlington.
Nancy was a homemaker.
Nancy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was the past president of the Eagles Auxiliary and a member of Girl Scouts for 22 years. As a young girl, she enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. Nancy was a very patient woman. She enjoyed baking, playing games on her iPad, watching the Chicago Cubs, and spending time with her granddaughter.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald LaRoy Tisor of Burlington; one son, Thomas (Wendy) Tisor of Burlington; two daughters, Rhonda Pealer of West Burlington and Evelyn Tisor of Burlington; one granddaughter, Courtney Pealer of West Burlington; one sister, Mary Evelyn (Spencer) Honsey of Burlington; two aunts; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral service for Mrs. Tisor will be 10:30 AM Friday, June 24, 2016, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church with Reverend Ryan Cosgrove officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Following the burial, a time of food and fellowship will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Trinity Lutheran Church, Ducks Unlimited, and Special Needs Foundation of Des Moines County.
