Joann Timmerman, 81, of Burlington died 8:05 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born December 18, 1936 in Burlington, she was the daughter of John and Myrtle (Hines) Ross. She married Royal Timmerman on September 11, 1954 in Burlington and together they celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Joann was an immaculate homemaker. She loved nature and bird watching. She was a Dairy Queen junkie and enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and working with porcelain. She made many afghans and dolls. She was a fantastic wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by her family and her dog "Snooks".
Survivors include her husband, Royal Timmerman of Burlington; two sons Brian Timmerman of Texarkana, Texas and Bradley Timmerman of Roseville, Illinois; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Ross of Iowa City and Barbara Gibbs of Mediapolis.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son Johnathon.
The graveside funeral service and interment for Mrs. Timmerman will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 24th at Aspen Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Dean Graber will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 23rd at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends.
A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice.
