Charles J. "C.J." Timmerman, 30, of Salem, formerly of Burlington, died at 12:43 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2010, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Born September 21, 1979, in Iowa City, he was the son of Charles "Chuck" and Roberta "Robbie" (Perron) Timmerman. He married Donita Palmer on September 14, 2002, in LaHarpe; together they had three children: Jesse, Jakob and Jadon. They later divorced. He then married Bethany Sutton on April 25, 2009, in Lomax. C.J. was a carpenter and had worked in construction; he was also a deckhand with Matteson Marina. He was an artist and loved tattooing. He enjoyed spending time on the river and being outdoors, but more than anything he loved spending time with his children, his friends, and his family. Survivors include his three children, Jesse, Jakob, and Jadon Timmerman all of LaHarpe, his parents, Chuck and Robbie Timmerman of Salem; a brother, Jeremy (Virginia) Timmerman of Burlington, "Ginny" is not only C.J.'s sister-in-law but also his special friend; a sister, Cassidy (Adam Gulick) Timmerman of Burlington; one nephew, Jaxsen Timmerman of Burlington; his paternal grandmother, Susie Timmerman of Lomax; his maternal grandparents, Bob and Norma Jean Perron of Burlington; uncles, Steve Timmerman of Lomax and Michael (Shawna) Timmerman of Burlington; aunts, Loretta McDaniels of Burlington, Rae (Joe) Nebergall of Danville, and Kim Peterson of Burlington. He was preceded in death, and is now at home with is beloved grandfather, Charles A. Timmerman. The graveside funeral service for C.J. will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2010, in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 15th, at Crazy Coyote. A memorial has been established. According to his wishes, C.J.'s body has been cremated.
