Donald Lee Tiemeyer, 57, formerly of Burlington, Iowa, died at Fort Madison Hospital, Fort Madison, Iowa, on Sunday October 31, 2010, at 6;23 p.m. Born on December 6, 1952, in Burlington, Iowa, he was the son of Delbert C. and Stella Louise Kubisch Tiemeyer. Donald was educated at Hope Haven Area Development Center. He was employed by Hope Haven Activity Center, Taco Bell of Burlington, and Big Apple Bagel. He was a member of Boy Scout Troop 15. Donald loved music, which included the Southeast Iowa Symphony, Burlington Municipal Band, and Kiwanis Travelogue. He lived at Gugeler Group Home at Hope Haven for 18 years. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. He is survived by his brother, Richard W. Tiemeyer of Fort Madison, Iowa; three cousins, Doris Dodd of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Kim Smith of Burlington, Iowa, and Walter C. Wilson of Silver Lake, Washington; and one aunt, Jean Lehman Tiemeyer of Burlington, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and two cousins. Funeral services for Donald Tiemeyer will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at Prugh's Chapel. Rev. LeRoy Bradway will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in Prugh's Chapel. A memorial has been established for Hope Haven Area Development Center.
