Glen Henry Thompson, 90, formerly of 418 Melville Ave., West Burlington, died at 2:05 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 1994, at the Elm View Care Center, where he had resided since September 1993. Born March 4, 1904, in Muscatine, he was the son of Charles A. and Emma Segal Thompson. He married Madelyn B. Muzzy in January, 1925, in Burlington. She died Oct. 13, 1992. He had worked for the Chicago-Burlington-Quincy Railroad, retiring with 50 years of service. Mr. Thompson had been mayor of West Burlington from 1950 until 1952. He was the Navy veteran of World War II and was involved in the invasion of Normandy. Survivors include one son, Glen M. Thompson of West Burlington; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. There will be no visitation or service. The body has been cremated. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
