Judith Marie Anderson, 75, originally of Burlington, IA died peacefully Friday, January 12, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Hospital Green Bay, WI.
She was born October 21, 1942, in Burlington, IA to Lawrence and Jeanette (Hillyer) Carlile.
Judy graduated from Burlington High School in 1960, the Burlington Beauty Academy in 1961 and became a licensed beautician. In 1963, she married H. Dean Anderson in Burlington, IA.
You rarely saw Judy without Dean as they were a team for over 50 years. They owned and operated several businesses together including Dean Anderson Racing Equipment, Rapunzel’s Hair Salon and their laundromat.
Judy was a hard worker, very devoted to raising her family, given one of the kindest hearts, and saw the best in everyone. She enjoyed puzzles, movies, taking walks, going for drives, the races, friends, family vacations out west, and hidden talents like flying and playing the accordion. Judy loved people and people loved Judy.
Judy is survived by two daughters and a son: Dena Spooner, Ankeny, IA; Toi and John Van Ess, Seymour, WI; Kip and Lori Anderson, Burlington, IA; five grandchildren, Ashley Spooner (fiancé, Collin Daniels), Frank and Henry Van Ess, Chloe and Carson Anderson; brother-in- law, Roger (Sandy) Anderson; five sisters-in- law, Linda Anderson, Barbara Anderson, Sherry
Anderson, Nancy McKee, and Karen Anderson; her Aunt Grace Krolak; and other family members.
She was recently preceded in death by her husband, H. Dean Anderson on April 30, 2017. She was also preceded in death by infant son, H. Dean Anderson; parents, Lawrence and Jeanette Carlile; infant sister Mary; parents-in- law, Francis and Mary Anderson; five brothers-in- law and a sister-in- law, Jim, Bob, Jerry, Don, David, and Lois; and nephew Donnie.
Beloved Judy, her smile, and feisty spirit will be missed by all.
Visitation for Dean and Judy will be from noon until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
Interred together with her husband will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery Burlington, IA at a later date.
