Marilyn Sue Sullivan, 87, of West Burlington, died Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at her home.
Born December 18, 1932, in Iowa City, she was the daughter of David Joseph and Vera Grace Barney Edwards. On September 14, 1955, she married Robert Earl Sullivan in Burlington. He passed on September 18, 2004 after 49 years of marriage.
Marilyn worked from Benner Tea Co. as a bookkeeper and a Personnel Director. She was also a homemaker.
She graduated from Burlington Junior College, and attended the University of Iowa.
She was of the Methodist faith. She was a member of the Democratic Committee Women, 4-H leader, and served as the Good Earth Organic Gardening Club Secretary. She greatly appreciated nature, gardening, and music.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan L. Myers of Danville; grandchildren, Heather (Kurt Jennings) Myers of West Burlington and Axl Keepe of Burlington; and great-grandchildren, Gabe Keepe, Megan Jennings, Bailey Jennings, Justin Jennings (Mallory), Alicia Thies (Troy) and Abby Jennings.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and one great-great-grandchild, Luke Jennings.
The Graveside Committal Service for Marilyn will be 2:00 PM Monday, November 16, 2020, at Aspen Grove Cemetery with Pastor Dean Graber officiating. Family will greet friends for an hour prior to the graveside service at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established for the Des Moines County Humane Society and the Southeast Iowa Astronomy Club.
