Janice Louise Sourwine, 70, died at 7:11 PM Saturday, June 15, 2019, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born October 20, 1948, in Lomax, IL, she was the daughter of Everett Irvin and Donna Logan Jones. On January 26, 1978 she married John Bruce Humphries. Together they had their daughter, Heidi.
On May 6, 1984, she married Duane Arthur Sourwine in Lomax IL, at the Lomax Christian Church.
In her earlier years, Jan worked as a beautician, but later in life she was a wonderfully dedicated housewife.
Jan was a member of the Yacht Club, SKIOWANS, and the Elk's Club. She enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and making floral arrangements. She also loved boating, home decorating, and attending pageants.
Survivors include her husband, Duane Arthur Sourwine, one daughter, Heidi Elizabeth (Jon) Brown of Monmouth, IL, two step-daughters, Sandy Shipley of Burlington and Tamara (Brent) Levinson of Burlington, one sister, Linda Eland of Lomax, IL, nine grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Mercedes (John) Degen; one nephew, Danny McBride; one great-nephew, Jacob Olson; and several aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Mrs. Sourwine will be 12:00 PM Thursday, June 20, 2019, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the Community Room at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home following the burial.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Alzheimer's Association.
