Delores "Dee" L. Harrison, 79, of Dallas City, IL, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2017 at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center, LaHarpe, IL.
Dee was born in Burlington, IA, July 2, 1938 the daughter of Ralph and Mabel Sheckler Janssen.
Dee is survived by her husband, Charles Harrison of 56 years. They were married in Burlington, IA on October 7, 1960.
After graduating high school, Dee went on to become a Registered Nurse. She worked in Burlington, IA and LaHarpe, IL hospitals and later became a seasonal nurse in Fort Myers, FL.
Dee always loved the sunshine and enjoyed visiting the Florida beaches and California weather. She also enjoyed baking everyone’s favorite treats and spending quality time with her family.
Dee was the loving mother of Theresa Marsden and husband Kirby, of Burlington, IA, Brent Harrison of Dallas City, IL, Cheri Stevens and husband David of Dallas City, IL, Julie Nudd and husband David of Dallas City, IL, and Stacie Harrison of Bonita Springs, FL. Dee also is survived by nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and her sister Jeannette Schindall and late husband Richard (Dick) of Bettendorf, IA.
Dee was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Mabel Janssen, one sister, Shirley Waldorf, and one grandson, Ryan Marsden.
A private graveside will be held at Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington, IA. A memorial fund has been established for the Organ Transplant Support Group, Inc.-Fletcher Trust Fund. Address: 1110 NE 2nd Place, Cape Coral, Fl, 33909. The Fletcher Fund was established in 2004 to assist transplant recipients for medications and medical expenses in Southwest Florida.
