Mr. Tod M. Walker, 56, of Burlington, died at 4:30 p.m. Friday, September 17, 2021, at his home.
Born December 1, 1964 in Des Moines, Iowa, he was the son of David A. & Marcia M. (Elmore) Walker. He married Marlena L. Fainter July 27, 2021 in Iowa City.
Tod graduated from Notre Dame in 1983. He attended Loras College in Dubuque, IA and in 1990 graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy. Tod was a Police Officer for the City of Burlington for 17 years. Most recently a Journeyman Electrician at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant.
He was of the Christian faith. He was a member of the I.B.E.W Local #13, and the #1 Minnesota Viking fan. Tod enjoyed hanging out with his family and loved sitting outside listening to the rain.
Surviving is his wife Marlena Walker of Burlington; his children, Justin D. Walker and grandson Tod H. Walker of Burlington, Hiliary E. (Brandon) McKay and grandson Rory A. McKay of Reynolds, IL., Hannah N. (Landon) Wuethrich and granddaughter Cora M. Wuethrich of St. Charles, MO; stepchildren Keeley & Megan Switzer of Tampa, FL. and his parents David & Marcia Walker of Burlington.
Tod was preceded in death by his maternal & paternal grandparents.
The family will receive friends from 3-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Lunning Chapel with a Celebration of Life following at the Trax in FunCity from 5-7:00 p.m.
According to his wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel following the visitation.
A memorial to the Burlington Police Department has been established.
