Mr. Tobias "Toby" Hermann, 86, of Burlington died at 10:55 a.m. Thursday, August 10, 2017, at Aledo Health Care Center in Aledo, Illinois.
Born April 1, 1931 in Burlington, he was the son of Tobias and Nellie (Larsen) Hermann. He was previously married to Shirley Heisel and Jodonna McKibbon. On November 12, 1977 he married Kay Margaret Kimble Henderson in Cedar Rapids. She preceded him in death on November 17, 1994. On May 20, 2000 he married Cherie Hull Lee in Burlington.
Mr. Hermann was a 1950 graduate of Burlington High School. He worked at IRC, ran Toby's Key Service for 25 years, worked at Exide, and was a co-owner and operator of Kay's Video in Burlington.
Mr. Hermann was of the Methodist faith. He was a graphite drawing artist and enjoyed woodcarving.
Survivors include his wife, Cherie Hermann of Burlington; his children, Trudie (Ralph Crum) Hermann of Nevis St. Kits, Toby (Lauree) Hermann Jr. of Iowa City, Tim (Lori) Hermann of Jefferson City, Missouri, Ted (Helene) Hermann of Winfield, Tom (Michelle) Hermann of Coralville, Jade (Clint) Maddy of New London and Darren Henderson of Burlington; four stepsons, John (Christy) Hull of rural Burlington and Russ (Vicky) Hull of Burlington, Mark (Donna) Hull of Eastampton, New Jersey and Tom (Linda) Hull Jr. of Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; six great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, sister-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Kay, twin brother Bob, and grandson Jason Stafford.
The memorial funeral service for Mr. Hermann will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 22nd, at Lunning Chapel. Inurnment will be in Montrose Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the time of service. A memorial has been established.
