Arlene Lorraine Lindblad, 81, of Burlington died 10:57 a.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born August 6, 1937 in Bagley, Minnesota she was the daughter of Arthur and Agnes (Swenson) Lofthus. She married Russell V. Lindblad on February 27, 1954 in Drayton, North Dakota. He died October 10, 2013.
Arlene worked at a potato field picking potatoes early in her work career, she continued on to work for Sylvania and Rutherford Potato Company and finally Vista Bakery until her retirement.
She was of the Lutheran faith.
She loved her dogs, birds and cats and enjoyed camping. Her passion was taking care of her son Mark. She fondly remembered her visits to her parents in Minnesota. She was a great cook and was a known prankster, all the way until the end.
Survivors include her two children; Mark Lindblad and Debra (Dennis) Sink both of Burlington; five grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and one on the way; three sisters; Janet Callaway, Myrna Baker and Lila Heineke; one brother Arlan Lofthus of Burlington; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
