Obituary
Marvin M. Lloyd, formerly of West Burlington, IA passed away peacefully on August 21, 2018 in Pacheco, CA. Born June 27, 1932 in Burlington, he served in the Air Force and was stationed in Seoul, Korea. After the war, he worked at the Iowa Ordinance Plant, his father's business Lloyd's Surplus, became a certified welder of Iowa and traveled and worked for the Trane Company, and worked 17 years at the Burlington Northern Railroad Shops in West Burlington, from which he retired in 1997. After retiring, Marvin relocated cars for Shottenkirk, Deery Brothers, and Byrider.
Marvin was a passionate reader of the Old West, Native Americans, and World War II. He had a collection of Old West and Native American artifacts, pottery, and artwork which he delighted in showing to anyone interested. He was a generous and compassionate soul, always giving to those in need. Marvin loved traveling to Oklahoma and California to visit family. He enjoyed his vegetable garden and going to garage sales and antique stores.
Marvin leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years, Juanita "Jo" Lloyd, step-son, Howard Perdue, brothers and sisters-in-law, a special sister-in-law, Ellie Lloyd of Phoenix, AZ, nieces and nephews, and a very special friend, Robert Mills of Pacheco, CA.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mildred Lloyd, and two brothers, Donald, and his beloved twin, Milton.
