Mary Alice Parker, 78, of Burlington, died at 8:45 AM Friday, August 10, 2018, at her home.
Born October 30, 1939, in Missouri, she was the daughter of Curtis Leo and Eathel Octavia Palmer. On August 26, 1962, she married William Wayne Parker in Burlington. He later passed on April 14, 2013.
Mary worked at Midwest Biscuit Company and for Lamont Limited. She retired after over 30 years of service.
Mary enjoyed gardening, embroidery, playing card games, and animals, especially birds. Her favorite was the red cardinal. She also enjoyed going to see her son and grandson's baseball games, and taking them to go see Bee's games. She adored spending time with her friends and family.
Survivors include two sons, Kevin (Kimberly) Parker of Burlington; Tony (Amy) Parker of Bismarck, AR; one daughter, Belinda K. Parker of Burlington; six grandchildren, Kirstie, Brady, Tyler, Justin, Kyle, Jesse, and Erica; four great-grandsons, Ayden, Jackson, Asher, and Arden; one sister, Kay Palmer; one aunt, Lucille Manning; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters; Wilma Cain, ArlaMae "Chubby" Palmer, and Darlene Courtney.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Mary will be 10:00 AM Friday, August 17, 2018, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Collier officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery following the service. A time of food and fellowship will be held at First Assembly of God Church following the burial.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Great River Hospice.
