Obituary
Norma Jean Kinsley, age 77, of Wapello, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, Friday afternoon, July 27, 2018, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. The daughter of Cecil and Ethel Darnell Parrish, she was born on May 23, 1941 in Kirksville, Missouri.
Norma graduated from Burlington High School. She married Kermit R. Kinsley on May 12, 1961 in Wapello. She worked as a Dispatcher with the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office for 17 years. Norma was a member of the Iowa State Sheriff’s Association. She was an avid reader, enjoyed baking, loved her grandchildren, and was a dog lover.
Her family includes her husband, Kermit; four children, Lori & Dan Dickey of Belton, Missouri, Krista & Shawn Martley of Grimes, Teri & Rusty Shepard of Wapello, and Kirk Kinsley of Wapello; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Parrish of Fort Madison; and a niece and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Richard Parrish; and a nephew, Mike.
Cremation will be fulfilled and a Memorial Gathering will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello.
A memorial fund has been established.
