Gladys Marie Langer, 99, of Burlington died December 6, 2020 at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born November 11, 1921 in Burlington, Iowa she was the daughter of Herbert Earl and Virginia Alice (Fauber) Roseberry. She married Anthony John Langer on February 15, 1941 in Burlington. He died April 26, 1996.
Gladys worked for Sylvania and then Champion Spark Plug for 17 years until her retirement in 1987. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, the American Legion and the VFW Auxiliary.
She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino on occasion, seeing her hairdresser every Friday and her phone calls with her daughter during their “shows” Young and the Restless and Dancing with the Stars. Her time with family was very precious to her.
Survivors include her two children; Marcia Holm of Orlando, Florida and Mark Langer of Burlington; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and one sister Helen Sillick of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, step-father, one daughter Mary Blake, granddaughter Diane Gawron-Beck and one sister Dorothy Gerdom.
A private family graveside service and inurnment will be held at a later date. According to her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
