Mary A. Kulp, 82, of Burlington, died at Klein Center of West Burlington at 2:23 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2019.
Born November 25, 1937 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Carl Richard and Naomi M. Albright Anderson. On August 22, 1959, she married George A. Kulp in Burlington. He preceded her in death on December 24, 2008.
Ms. Kulp was a 1956 graduate of Burlington High School and a 1959 graduate of Burlington Junior College. She worked for Bacher Drugstore, Sylvania Electric Company, K-Mart and Target. She retired on October 31, 2007.
Ms. Kulp was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church where she was very active. She served on the Altar Guild, Worship Planning, Evangelism Committee, Ruth Circle, Kids Against Hunger, Messiah Care Board and taught Sunday School for nine years.
She enjoyed traveling, reading, movies, eating out, flowers, yard work, and cats. Mary also enjoyed going to her class reunions and going with her husband George to meet with his high school classmates once a month for lunch. Mary loved taking walks and visiting with people in the nursing homes and shut-ins and packaging for Kids Against Hunger.
Survivors include; nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, two sisters, and one brother in infancy.
The funeral service for Ms. Kulp will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Messiah Lutheran Church with Rev. Susanne Smith officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
The committal service will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 19, 2019.
A memorial has been established for Messiah Lutheran Church.
