Frances "Fran" Louise Kost, 96, of Burlington, died at 4:10 AM Monday, December 17, 2018, at the OakView Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Burlington.
Born December 1, 1922, in Leon, IA, she was the daughter of George W. and Grace Green Lamphiear. She married Leonard Kost, they later divorced.
Fran retired in 1995 after 41 years at J.S. Schramm Company. She later worked at Montgomery Ward from 1999-2002.
She was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include her granddaughter, Tanya (Jay) Doyscher; grandson, Dion Kost; great-grandsons, Aaron Campisi, Blake Campisi, Joseph (Chelsea) Schwartz, and Seth Kost; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Leonard Kost; infant son, John Edward, beloved son and daughter-in-law Larry G. and Sharon K. Kost; sister, Jane Northcut, infant sister, Martha Lamphiear, brothers and sisters-in-law, Elmer and Oleta Lamphiear, Howard and Beverly Lamphiear, and Glen and Laura Lamphiear and sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy "Dot" and Alan Losee.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The memorial service for Fran will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral home with Pastor Judy Ann Morse officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
A memorial has been established for the family.
