Judith “Judy” Lee Morse, 81 of Iowa City, IA, formerly of Burlington, died at 7:54 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at The Bird House Hospice Home in Iowa City.
Born April 1, 1939 in Burlington, she was the daughter of George “Bill” and Edith Virginia “Ginny” (Morton) Davis. She married Robert Morse July 9, 1958. He died January 29, 2018.
Judy graduated from Burlington High School in 1957. She was a guitar teacher for 40 years at Musicians Pro Shop.
Judy loved music, gardening, genealogy, writing and photography, often taking pictures of spiderwebs and other nature. Judy loved to travel with her husband Bob all over the United States, either in their Winnebago or with the Gold Wing Motorcycle Club. She also traveled to Europe with friends. Her favorite place was Switzerland. She enjoyed garage sales and raising chickens in her backyard. She was a member of the Burlington Public Library Writer’s Guild.
Survivors include her daughter, Lynn (Bruce) Loan of Iowa City; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Frank Burham of San Diego, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Cynthia Stambaugh.
The funeral service for Judy will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 6th at Lunning Chapel. Pastor JudyAnn Morse will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service. Cremation will be accorded following the service. Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date.
A memorial has been established for the Bird House Hospice Home of Johnson County.
