Beatrice Ilene Frank, 96, was born on August 25, 1926 in Iowa City, Iowa to Lloyd Walter and Eva Ruth
Terhune Lincoln. Ilene passed away on January 23, 2023. She was married to Donald R. Frank on
November 30, 1946 in Algona, Iowa. Don passed away on February 3, 2005, after 58 years of marriage.
Ilene graduated from West Branch High School in 1944. She graduated from Burlington Beauty
Academy in 1946. She was a hairdresser for nearly 50 years, owning the West Hill Beauty Shop.
After her retirement she remained very active. She volunteered at the Des Moines County Historical
Society, served as a precinct chairperson for elections, conducted cooking classes at the Heritage
Museum, and organized her family reunions and genealogy.
Survivors include: son, Warren Frank, sister Donna McIlrath of DeKalb, IL., numerous nieces and
nephews, lifelong friends James Miller, DC, and Mary Rae Schnedler.
Funeral services for Ilene will be held at the Lunning Chapel at 11:00 am, Friday, January 27, 2023 with
the family receiving friends from 09:30 to 11:00. Private burial will be held at Aspen Grove Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and 4 siblings.
The family requests no flowers. A memorial fund has been established for the Des Moines County
Historical Society.
