Ray Earl Foulk, 77, of Burlington, died at 1:56 pm Saturday, May 30, 2020, at his home.
Born October 18, 1942, in Canton, IL, he was the son of Leslie and Lucile Foulk. On October 29, 1961, he married Karen Ann Mattoon in Burlington. She later passed on October 23, 2004.
Ray served in the United States Marine Corps from February 3, 1960 until January 31, 1964.
Ray was hired on as the third Iowa based UPS driver, working there for over 31 years, retiring in 1998. He was later inducted into the UPS hall of fame.
Ray was a simple, honest man who was very proud of his family. He shared his love of the river with his entire family, whether that be boating, fishing, hunting, or just appreciating the view. He was passionate about racing, from building and driving several racecars at the local racetracks and watching NASCAR. Ray loved animals, but especially his Yorkies.
Survivors include two daughters, Tracy L. (Ken) Pender of Burlington, Sheila D. (Ron) Plummer of Deltona, FL; five grandchildren, Trevor W. Plummer, Gauge R., Mikenna L., Traeh A., and Hunter S. Pender; three great-grandchildren, William R., Nicholas E., and Arthur T. Plummer; brother, Delbert (Shirley) Foulk of Upland, IN; sister-in-law, Mary Foulk of Macomb, IL; brother-in-law, Warren (Sherry) Mattoon, Jr. of Burlington; several nieces and nephews and his beloved Yorkie, Sadie.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and one brother.
Visitation will be from noon until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, June 4 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Mr. Foulk will be 2:00 PM Friday, June 5, 2020, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Tracey Burgus officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Full military honors will be rendered by the Hamilton-Walters Marine Corps Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for P.A.W.S. in Fort Madison.
