Jesse Robert Edwards, 90, "one sweet lovable old man", died Monday September 27, 2021 at Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
Born May 13, 1931 in Wapello, Iowa, he was the son of Paul and Marguerite Edwards. He married Nancy Jamison in 1959. They later divorced. He married Charlotte Stone in 1976. She passed in 1989. He married Bernice Carman in 1990. She passed in 2019.
He was a 1950 graduate of Morning Sun High School.
Jesse worked for US Gypsum, Western Stoneware, Iowa Army Ammunition Plant and Burlington Community School District. Jesse enjoyed decorating for Christmas, coffee with the guys and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his son: Kirk (Misty) Edwards; daughter Dana Tucker; step daughter Patty (Jay) Smith; grandchildren Dustin, Savannah, Hailey and Hannah Edwards, Dalton and Fern Tucker, Jesse (Rachel) and Nick Smith, David (Alex) and Dylan (Emily) Bouge, great grandchildren Charlotte Smith, Brantley Smith and Rowen Bouge. Also surviving is one sister, Marge Sodemann and one brother, Paul Raymond "Pook" Edwards.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Leroy "Friday" Edwards and step daughter Debi (David) Bouge.
The Graveside Committal Service for Mr. Edwards will be 10:00 AM Saturday October 2nd at Aspen Grove Cemetery.
