Sidelle Davis, Sr., 79, of Burlington, died on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at St. Andrews in New Florence, MO.
Sidelle Davis, Sr. was born on January 24, 1942, in Arkansas to Houston and Idell Lloyd.
He worked as a laborer and painter at Case Co.
He was a profound musician, playing the guitar and drums in a gospel band known as "Spiritual Tone" and would often play his guitar at St. Andrews, sharing his musical talents with those around him. Some of his favorite pastimes were going to the casino to do some gambling, or down to the waterfront to fish.
Sidelle is survived by eight children: Teresa Miles and husband, Julius, of Cedar Rapids; JoAnn Davis of Iowa; Lisa Knowles of California; Sidelle Davis, Jr. of Iowa; Jenny Elmore and husband, Kerry, of Iowa; Gloria Goodlett and husband, James, of Iowa; Sam Davis of Iowa; Latasia Pearson and wife, Courtney, of Montgomery City, MO; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, John, Joseph and Warren Lloyd; two sisters, Erma Lee Lloyd and Ida B. Lloyd.
Sidelle was preceded in death by his parents.
The Graveside Committal Service for Mr. Davis, Sr. will be 11:00 AM Friday, August 27, 2021, at Aspen Grove Cemetery with Reverend Lawrence L. Manson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established at the funeral home.
