Virginia Lucille Davis, 96, of Burlington, died Monday, December 27, 2021, at Oakview Care and Rehabilitation Center in Burlington.
Born February 4, 1925, in Ottumwa, Iowa she was the daughter of George Henry and Mabel Ruth (Henderson) Cantrell. She married Merle Davis on June 2, 1940, in Lancaster, Missouri. He died December 2, 1996.
Lucille was a long-time member of Riverside Baptist Church. She worked for John Morrell Company, St. Joseph Hospital, and Ottumwa Hospital. She was a housewife and mother.
She is survived by her three sons; James Davis of Burlington, Danny (Sharon) Davis of Stronghurst, Illinois, and Steven (Jonie) Davis of Burlington; four grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter and one son, and four brothers.
The funeral service for Mrs. Davis will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 30th at Lunning Chapel. Pastor Mick Hall will officiate. Interment will be held in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the funeral service.
