Obituary

Joan M. Magel, 62, of rural Burlington died at 4;20 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2008 at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport. Born Oct. 1, 1946, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Robert J. and Mary C. Ebbesmeier Williams. On Sept. 24, 1966, she married Jerry Magel in West Burlington. Mrs. Magle worked as a clerk at Siegel's for many years. She was a graduate of West Burlington High School. She was a member of First United Church of Christ. She enjoyed the Red Hatters, fishing, gardening, mushroom hunting and being outdoors. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Daniel Magel of Moorhead, Minn., and Darren Magel of Frisco, Texas; two grandchildren; her mother of Burlington; and one sister, Marsha Whitham of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her father. No visitation or services are planned. The body has ben cremated. Lunning Chapel in Burlington is in charge of arrangements.
