Linda Kay Magneson, 62, of Burlington, died at 9:11 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born September 3, 1943, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, she was the daughter of Walter and Dessel Wilson Bachman. On August 31, 1979, she married Lyle Ivan Magneson in Burlington.
Mrs. Magneson was a 16 year employee at Midwest One Bank (Formerly Midwest Federal Savings and Loan). She was involved in banking for over 30 years. Her interests include antiques and attending auctions, and she was a member of Questers (Orchard City Chapter), member of Des Moines Connty Historical Society, volunteer for Burlington Steamboat Days Entertainment Committee, volunteer at the Apple Trees Museum and was an active donor with Mississippi Valley Blood Bank. She was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include her husband, Lyle of Burlington; one son, Shawn (Julie) Kiene of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one daughter, Shantel(Dan) Winder of Pasadena, California; one son, Gary (Kristi) Magneson of Urbandale, Iowa; one daughter, Elizabeth (Eric) Kamp of Grimes, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Katrina, Kiersten, Kenneth, Courteney, Jonah, Olivia, Evan, Noah, and Cody; one sister, Wanda (Sid) Brooks or Wayland, Iowa; one sister-in-law, Bonnie Bachman of Daviw, Florida; and many nieces, nephews, and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dennis Bachman.
Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date. Re. Leonard Schantz officiating.
Memorials have been established for the American Cancer Society, and the Burlington Public Library.
