Cynthia Sue Stambaugh, 50, of Burlington died Monday, November 17, 2014, near Gladstone, Illinois as a result of an automobile accident. Born November 22, 1963 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Robert Henry and Judith Lee (Davis) Morse. On October 19, 1990 she married Lonnie Hartsock. They were happily married for ten years and had three children. They later divorced. Ms. Stambaugh was a 1982 graduate of Burlington High School and a 1984 graduate with an associate of arts degree as a lab technician from Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo. She worked as a certified lab technician for Burlington Medical Center for 6-7 years. She had worked at Gators for many years and was a beautiful homemaker. Ms. Stambaugh was an avid bike rider and participated in RAGBRAI for 19 years. She was a triathlon competitor, swimmer, great cook and a very hard worker. She was a member of the YWCA for 20 years and recently organized "Bike for Gipe" raising more than $1,000 in donations. She was very involved with her children's activities. Survivors include two daughters, Emily Sue Hartsock of Burlington and Shelby Rose Hartsock of Boulder, Colorado; one son, Tanner Robert Hartsock of Iowa City attending the University of Iowa; one grandson, Cohen Lee Touch; her parents, Bob and Judy Morse of Burlington; one sister, Lynn (Bruce Alan) Loan of Iowa City; four nieces and nephews and five great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, George William and Edith Virginia Davis. The memorial funeral service for Ms. Stambaugh will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, November 21st at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. JudyAnn Morse officiating. The family will receive friends from1 p.m. until the time of service. A memorial has been established in her name for the benefit of her grandson, Cohen Lee Touch.
