Julie Anne Newman, 59, of Burlington, died Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at her home.
Born December 17, 1962, in Ames, IA, she was the daughter of Edward O. and Lela E. Shaver Freeman. She married Scott Newman on September 25, 1998 and they later divorced.
Julie attended West Burlington High School and graduated in 1981.
She worked for Jack's Discount, later known as Shopko, Hyvee Gas and the Beat Tavern.
Julie was a member of the Eagles and Burlington Gym.
Survivors include her son, Cody Newman of Burlington; mother and father in law, Bill and Ardyth Newman of Burlington; two brothers, Mike (Theresa) Freeman of Burlington and Tim (Melissa) Freeman of Independence, MO; sister, Beth Kline of Mequon, WI; sister-in-law, Lori (Joe) Moore of Burlington; two nephews, Adam and Tyler; and five nieces, Hannah, Heather, Sara, Shanna and Michelle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother-in-law Max Kline.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
