Mr. Earl W. Stoller, 79, of Burlington, died Friday, August 13, 2021 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born November 26, 1941 in Burlington, Iowa, he was the son of Earl Milton and Ione Louise (Heiniger) Stoller.
Earl grew up on a farm in the Oakville area and began driving a school bus for Mediapolis Schools at the age of 16.
He attended Huron – Mediapolis Schools and was a 1960 graduate and basketball and baseball star for Mediapolis High School. He served in the Army National Guard.
He married Ona Bishop on November 24, 1960. They later divorced. He then married Vicki A. Prall on December 19, 1992 in the living room of Vicki’s parents’ home, next to the Christmas tree.
Earl worked for General Electric and then in sales for Chittenden & Eastman Co. in Oklahoma. He transferred with C&E to Burlington where he worked 25 years as a Customer Relations Manager. During the Flood of 2008 he began working for the State of Iowa Emergency Management Response and Recovery until his retirement in 2013.
He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church where he served on the church council and property committee. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, boating and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye Fan and lover of all things peanut butter. He was a man with a lot of interests.
He is survived by his wife Vicki Stoller of Burlington; six children, Curt (MaLinda) Stoller of Webster City, Iowa, Tom (Rhonda) Stoller of Roland, Iowa, Lyn Stoller of Webster City, Iowa, Scott (Lori) Kindig of Keokuk, Iowa, Stephanie (Jay) Warren and Kristin (Adam) Fritz both of Burlington; nine grandchildren, Annie Brown, Zach Stoller, Alicia Harris, Ryan Kindig, Aryn Kindig, Taylor Warren, Karlie Warren, Mason Fritz and Parker Fritz.; several great grandchildren; three brothers, Dan (Diane) Stoller of Connecticut, Ed (Patty) Stoller of Mediapolis and Steve (Paula) Stoller of Burlington; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Jennifer Stoller and great grandson Karter Warren-Knipe.
The funeral service for Mr. Stoller will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 20th at Bethany Lutheran Church. Pastor Paul Hermansen will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 19th at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends.
Memorials have been established for Bethany Lutheran Church and Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
