Margaret Virginia Boysen, 91, of West Burlington, Iowa, passed away at 10:50 P.M. Thursday, June 27, 2019 at her home.
She was born April 13, 1928 in Cushing, OK, the daughter of Fred and Lavina Nunn West.
On April 22, 1977, she married Dean Boysen in Burlington, Iowa. Virginia helped Dean run the Plaza Pub Tavern in Burlington, Iowa for 7 fun filled years, where many friends and memories were made. She worked at various other part-time jobs, one of which was at IAAP, in order to support her family.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Stronghurst, IL. Virginia enjoyed sewing, reupholstering and shopping at resale shops and garage sales, where she loved to find a bargain so she could constantly remodel and have Dean rearrange her home with her new treasures. She enjoyed having family and friends fill her home so she could cook for them and take their money playing two-cents a point rummy.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Dean Boysen of West Burlington; two sons, Larry (Kathy) West of Sherman, IL and Joe (Marlene) O'Donnell of Burlington, IA; one daughter, DeeAnn (Scot) Bokhoven of New Sharon, IA; one step-brother, Robert (Betty) Carmean of Stronghurst, IL; 11 grandchildren; Trisha (Dan) Blentlinger, Ryan (Shannon) O'Donnell, Micheal (Shonna) O'Donnell, Megan (Logan) Lipper, David O'Donnell, Christine and Caleb Rozendaal; 9 great-grandchildren; Elizabeth, Kayla, Tyler, Lauryn, Makayla, Miles, Micah, Layla and Nolan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Raymond West, one son, Donald Shuster, her grandson Shane West and great-grandson Hunter O'Donnell.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M. until 2:30 P.M., Monday, July 1, 2019 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Virginia will be 2:30 P.M. Monday, July 1, 2019, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Graber officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home following the burial.
