Obituary

Linda Inghram Smothers, 59, of Burlington died Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born March 7, 1961 in Burlington she was the daughter of Louis “Barney” and Pat Inghram. She married Daniel Smothers on May 2, 2014, he died June 3, 2014.
Linda worked for Lamont Ltd. and retired from Target.
She enjoyed gardening, crafting, trying out new recipes, tag sales and the thrill of finding a bargain. She was always ready to socialize over a beer, and be everyone’s therapist. As one friend said, “She lived her life to the fullest and would’ve done anything she could to help others.”
Her biggest joy in life was her nieces and nephews. She loved BIG and left many memories. Everyone loved Aunt Lyn Lyn or as she was known at the V.M. Pub…Aunt Linda. She even had her own custom-made special pink bar stool.
She fought the enemy cancer for 16 years. She battled hard like a true warrior. She will be missed greatly by all who loved her.
She is survived by her father, sisters Patti (Phil) Good and Jacquie Thomas; best friend Cathy Sturms McAlister; three nieces Trina, Tisha and Sami; two nephews Joe and Jeff; her nephew by another mother Brandon; one great niece Trishay; two great nephews Tavair and Marquez and three great-great nieces Emery, Linnex and Vada.
She was preceded in death by her mother, two brothers, one sister and her fur babies Spark and Liz.
Due to Covid-19, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
A memorial has been established.
