Obituary
Nanci Ann Ell, 49, of Burlington, died Sunday, December 6, 2020 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Born August 8, 1971 she was the daughter of James and Judith (Foster) Nesius.
Nanci was the owner/operator of A Cut Above salon and was a member of Zion United Church of Christ.
Nanci was the one we all went to when something went wrong or if we felt down. People turned to her for comfort daily and she was always a listening ear.
There are so many people that she has touched and affected in such positive ways. She would never treat anyone as if they were lesser. She taught us all to be kind and compassionate, to look out for others. Nanci was loved by so many, whether it be family, friends or people she had only met once, people could feel the warm energy she gave off.
It’s hard to imagine a world without her radiant smile, but we know we will always have her with us. Nanci was selfless and generous even in the end of her life, her donation of her organs saved two lives.
She is survived by her three children; Tanner Ell, Kamryn Ell and Karlee Bush all of Burlington; aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Brad Nesius.
The graveside funeral service and interment for Nanci will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 15th at Aspen Grove Cemetery and will be live streamed via www.facebook.com/LunningChapel. The Rev. Brice Hughes will officiate.
Friends may call from noon until 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 14th at Lunning Chapel to pay their respects. Due to the current state guidelines, the family will not be present. Masks and social distancing will be required.
A memorial will be established in her memory.
