George "Butch" Cline, 78, of West Burlington, died at 5:17 PM Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born March 27, 1942, in Burlington, he was the son of Oscar and Florence Grimes Cline. In June of 1960, he married Carolyn Johnson in Burlington. They later divorced. He married Christine Turner. They later divorced.
He owned and operated many automobile sales and service centers, Clines Agency Auto Sales and Gulfport Auto Auction.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah (Steve) Krieger of West Burlington, and Tammy (Tom) Freeman of Ottumwa; one son, George Cline, Jr. of Batavia; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren with one on the way in October; four brothers, Gary (Linda) Cline, Mike (Cheryl) Cline both of Burlington, Lee (Marge) Cline of Mount Pleasant, Bob (Nancy) Ostick of Ottumwa; greatly loved step-children that he helped raise; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Robert and Oscar Jr.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
The Graveside Service for Butch will be 2:00 PM Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Aspen Grove Cemetery with Pastor Brad Cranston officiating.
A memorial has been established in his name.
