Gary A. Ruble, 69, of Middletown died Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at his daughters home in New London, Iowa.
Born September 19, 1950 in Wapello, Iowa he was the son of James Ament and Thelma Maxine (Marlette) Ruble. He married Delores “Dee” Bowman on October 11, 1970 in Commerce, Colorado. She died December 31, 2012.
Gary worked for the US Gypsum plant as a miner until his retirement in 2002.
He was of the Nazarene faith. He was a Cub Scout leader and car enthusiast. He loved watching race horses and liked his spirits, listening to country music and dancing the two-step with his wife and he adored his time with his kids, grandchildren and family.
Survivors include his four children; Tammy (Baylark) Hunt Sr. of New London, Patrick Allen (Tina) Ruble of Burlington, Laurie (Anthony) Brown of Burlington and Sara (Zach) Brown of New London; 13 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four sister-in-law’s, Kathy (Jeff) Stoermer and Tina Downing both of Burlington, Betty Ruble of Morning Sun and Sharon Kay Ruble of Battle Ground, Washington; two brother-in-law’s, Donald Bowman and Charles (Shirley May) Bowman both of Burlington; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two grandchildren and three brothers and one sister.
A private family service and inurnment will be held in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having a public memorial at this time.
A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice.
