Wayne Alan Blume, 80, of Burlington, died at 9:33 AM Friday, April 13, 2018, at his home in Burlington.
Born January 20, 1938, in Kansas City, KS, he was the son of Howard Burton and Anna Lucille Zimmerschild Blume. On October 26, 1960, he married Patricia Anne Bell in Maryville, MO.
He came to Burlington in 1967, he leased the gas station from Davison Oil Co. He later operated the skating rink in Roseville, IL from 1976 to 1983 while he also worked at J.I. Case.
He graduated from Clarinda High School in 1956. He attended Southwestern Community Junior College in Clarinda, Iowa.
He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. He enjoyed being on the Church Council and Building Committee taking care of the lawn mowers and fixing anything that he could for his church. He enjoyed gardening, building things, and everything mechanical or electrical.
Survivors include wife; one daughter, Julie Ann (Gary) Coleman of Burlington; one daughter-in-law, Kathy (Mike) Blume Hoschek of Burlington; four grandchildren, Heidi (Derek) Boyd, Amy (Eric Hall) Blume, Garret & Abbey Coleman; three great-grandchildren, Justin, Austin, and Sydney Boyd; one brother, Wesley Blume of Clarinda, IA; and six nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son Delbert Joe, parents, and grandparents.
There will be no visitation or services.
