Obituary

Barb A. Eggleston, 84, of Burlington, died at 12:30 PM Thursday August 12 2021, at Henry County Health Center
Born February 8, 1937, in Calmus, IA, she was the daughter of Chris and Marge Jorgenson. In November 1960, she married Bob Eggleston in Iowa.
Barb graduated from Calmus High School in 1954. She then went on to attend Iowa Teaching College receiving her teaching certificate.
Barb taught kindergarten and First Grade until her oldest son was born. After teaching she devoted her time to her family.
Aside from her family Barb loved baking, watching Food Network, and spending time with her friends playing bridge. A long time PEO member, participant in Potpourri Club and an all around active member at Faith Lutheran Church. She was a sports fanatic as well, cheering for the Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Twins in baseball and her husband Bob in golf.
Survivors include her children Scott Eggleston of Burlington, Kathy (Tim) Boyle of Oskaloosa, and Bryan (Connie) Eggleston of Center Point. Eight grandkids, Alysia, Zach, Taylor, T.J., Collin, Cam, Bailey, and Kelsie. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Bob.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
The celebration of life for Barb will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 16th at Lunning Chapel in Burlington. Pastor Ryan Cosgrove will officiate. Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery Columbarium. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Masks are optional but encouraged by the family.
Memorials have been established for Des Moines County Humane Society.
