Charles R. "Bob" Perron, 87, of Burlington, died at 11:30 AM Thursday, May 17, 2018, at the Blair House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Burlington.
Born August 12, 1930, in Hempstead Long Island, NY, he was the son of Leon John and Helen Loretta Harding Perron. On January 17, 1951, he married Norma J. Malcom in Oakville, IA.
He worked for 30 years at J.I. Case as a welder.
He was of Methodist Faith. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Moose Lodge, and Eagles Club. He enjoyed woodworking and doing autobody and painting cars. Charles was an avid Cub's fan, who also liked to go dancing, fishing, bowling, and have friends over to play cards. He always wanted to stay busy. He often did maintenance work and custodial jobs at the Fairfield Inn, Farney's, Joe's Inn and the Shamrock Pub. He loved to spend time with his family and grandkids, especially on holidays.
Survivors include his wife, Norma J. Perron of Burlington; four daughters, Loretta (Marc Olson) McDaniels, Rae (late Joe) Nebergall, Kim Peterson and Robbie (Chuck) Timmerman all of Burlington; eight grandchildren: Kelly Curry, Jamie Corwin, Jennifer Corwin- Hall, Andy Nebergall, Josh and Robert Peterson, and Jeremy (Ginny) Timmerman and Cassidy Timmerman; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Clifford Raymond Perron; and two grandsons, C.J. Timmerman and Josh Hall.
The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 PM Monday, May 21, 2018 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Mr. Perron will be 2:00 PM Monday, May 21, 2018, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Pastor Clay Baker officiating. Full military honors will be rendered by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date.
A memorial has been established for the Great River Hospice House.
