Rozita “Rozi” A. Bergen, 84, of Johnston, Iowa died Thursday, May 7, 2020 at her daughter’s home.
Born July 8, 1935 in Muscatine, Iowa she was the daughter of William Willis and Ellen Emilene (Moore) Garrison. She married Wayne Henry Bergen on March 31, 1951. He died November 1, 2004.
Rozi worked for Sylvania and later for Winegard Co. until her retirement. She was a member of the Des Moines First Church of the Nazarene.
She loved being around children and teaching Sunday school. She enjoyed sewing and being creative, loved music and took up piano lessons after her retirement. She was very active with her church.
Survivors include her three daughters; Belinda (Kenneth) Rippenkroeger of Cleveland, Texas, Julie Bergen (Larry) Watts of Johnston, Iowa and Barbara Sirovy of Lone Tree, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; five siblings, William (Nancy) Phllips of West Liberty, Iowa, JoAnn (Charles) Luttrull of Letts, Iowa, Leola Garner of Wapello, Iowa, Charlene Cozad of Muscatine, Iowa, Tony (Mary) Garrison of Wapello, Iowa and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter Rozan Marie Bergen Driskell and seven siblings, Juanita, Mary, Jackie, Richard, Robin, Leo Jr. and Frank in infancy.
The funeral service for Mrs. Bergen will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 11th at Lunning Chapel. Interment will be held in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Wapello Church of the Nazarene and the Des Moines First Church of the Nazarene.
