Mary Lou (Obel) Schlosser, of West Burlington, IA, passed away on September 7th, 2022. Mary Lou is survived by her son, Steve Schlosser, of West Liberty, IA. She was predeceased by her parents, Ben and Edith Obel as well as her husband, William Lee Schlosser.
Mary Lou was born on February 27th, 1931 in Corning, IA and moved to Fort Madison, IA where she graduated from Fort Madison High School. She worked at IAAP as well as being a teacher's aide at West Burlington Elementary School for 13 years. She enjoyed playing piano and did so for many years at Zion UCC in Burlington, IA. Her favorite hobbies were tending to her flower gardens, reading, and her beloved cat, Punky. She belonged to First Presbyterian Church and later Zion UCC both in Burlington, IA and church was very important to her.
A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 13th at Aspen Grove cemetery in Burlington, IA. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund to the nonprofit percussion group Sheltered Reality can be made in Mary Lou's name and sent to...
